To provide support to predoctoral and postdoctoral research trainees showing
potential in Photobiology, the Society is offering financial support on a
competitive basis. For those wishing to attend the 27th Annual Meeting in
Washington, DC, July 10-15, 1999, Society funds have been appropriated for
this program and amounts will be allocated to provide a portion of the
recipient's total expenses. Nominations from faculty members of those candidates
who are suitable recipients of the Travel Award are now being accepted. The
faculty nominations should provide data with particular emphasis on those
qualities of the nominee which suggest that the candidate will ultimately
make significant contributions in the area of photobiology. Note: Predoctoral
and Postdoctoral award applications will be judged separately.
To be eligible, the candidate must submit an abstract of a report suitable
for presentation at the meeting. The candidate must be an author of the abstract,
and if a recipient of the award must present the report at the meeting. If
the candidate is not a member of the Society, the abstract must be sponsored
by a member.
