INVITATION FROM THE PROGRAM CHAIR

Dear Colleagues:

On behalf of the American Society for Photobiology, we cordially invite you to attend the 29th Annual American Society for Photobiology Meeting which will be held at the Chicago Marriott Downtown in Chicago, Illinois, July 7-12, 2001.

Dr. Charles Gomer, Program Chair, has developed an excellent scientific program with a slate of internationally renown scientists who are organizing symposia to cover a wide range of highly relevant and timely photobiology topics (see preliminary Program included in this mailing). In addition to the symposia, there will be special lectures, school lectures, a keynote address, workshops and a session on grant writing. All sessions will feature exceptional speakers addressing a number of cutting edge photobiology topics.

This meeting will offer an opportunity to present data in platform or poster sessions. Information on abstract submission is included in this mailing or you may visit the photobiology website at www.POL-US.net or www.POL-EUROPE.net. The deadline for abstract submission is extended to March 19, 2001.

The American Society for Photobiology is pleased to offer a limited number of ASSOCIATE MEMBER TRAVEL AWARDS. The candidate must submit an abstract of a report suitable for presentation at the meeting and must be the presenting author of the abstract. If an award is granted, the recipient must present the report at the meeting. See Associate Member Travel Award Information included in this mailing or visit the Photobiology website for details. The deadline for receipt of travel award abstracts and supporting material is also extended to March 19, 2001.

In addition to the exciting scientific program, Chicago offers many scenic and cultural attractions, including museums, excellent restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. So be sure to mark the dates of July 7-12, 2001 on your calendar and join us in Chicago!
