FEES - Fees admit participants to scientific sessions, receptions, continental breakfasts and coffee breaks.
REGISTRATION CATEGORIES - Registration in the Member category is open to members of the American Society for Photobiology. Student Registration is open to Associate Members of ASP. Registrants in this category must enclose a copy of a university ID or letter certifying eligibility signed by department head/advisor. Spouse/Guest Registration permits a guest or spouse of the participant to attend social functions at cost. This is a social registration - to be admitted to a scientific session you MUST be registered as a participant.

CHECKS
Checks must be written on US banks in US funds or for the equivalent amount
in foreign currency on a foreign bank. Fees quoted are in US dollars. MAKE
CHECKS PAYABLE TO AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR PHOTOBIOLOGY.
CREDIT CARDS
The American Society for Photobiology accepts Visa, Mastercard or American
Express for payment of registration and other fees. Please include credit
card type, number and expiration date.
REFUNDS
Registrants must request refunds in writing. Refund requests will not be
honored after June 20, 2001. There will be a $25 handling fee for
any registration cancellation. All refunds will be made after the meeting.
RECEIPTS, BADGES AND PROGRAMS
Receipts, badges and programs will be available at the meeting registration
desk. Badges must be worn to all sessions and meal functions. Hotel
security will admit only participants wearing badges to Society functions.
BANQUET
The banquet scheduled for the night of Tuesday, July 10 will be one of the
highlights of the meeting - an opportunity to visit informally with colleagues
and enjoy an excellent meal as well. The cost is $40 per person (Early fee)
for participants and their guests and $25 for Associate Members.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
CHICAGO MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN - CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
A special room rate of $149.00 per night single or double occupancy has been arranged at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Hotel. Currently, all occupancy, state and local sales taxes for Chicago equal 14.9%. This makes the above rate $171.20 per night for single occupancy. The double rate is for 2 persons sharing a room and is equivalent to $85.60 per person per night including the applicable taxes. Concierge Level accommodations are offered at $179 (king) and $199 (double) plus applicable taxes per room/ per night based on availability. Check with the hotel for special pricing.
TELEPHONE RESERVATIONS - To make hotel reservations by phone, call 847-375-3420. You will need to indicate that you will be attending the "Photobiology Meeting" to receive the special group rate.
HOTEL RESERVATION FORM - To make reservations at the Chicago Marriott Downtown by mail or fax, complete the Hotel Reservation Form . Make sure you indicate arrival and departure dates as your reservation cannot be processed without this information. A check for the first night's deposit must accompany your reservation or, if you wish, the deposit may be charged to a major credit card. Please furnish the number, type of credit card, and expiration date in the space indicated.

Mail Hotel Reservation Card to: Chicago Marriott Downtown , Attention Reservations Manager, Chicago Marriott Downtown, 540 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Make check payable to Chicago Marriott Downtown. Deposit will be credited to your account at the hotel.
HOTEL DEADLINE
It is important that you make your reservations for the hotel before June
15, 2001. After that date rooms will be on a space available basis only,
and at their regular higher rates.
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
To change or cancel your reservation, notify the Marriott as soon as possible.
However, to avoid being charged for the room, reservations must be canceled
48 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
ROOMMATE LISTING SERVICE
Anyone wishing to share a room during the meeting may contact the ASP Office
(706-722-7511 or Fax 706-722-7515) and ask to be put on a Roommate list.
You will need to furnish your arrival and departure dates, phone number and
whether you are male/female; smoker/ non-smoker. We will furnish matching
names and you may contact the person(s) directly to make your joint accommodation
arrangements.
TRANSPORTATION FROM AREA AIRPORTS TO THE CHICAGO MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN
Chicago OHare International Airport (312) 686-2200
Located 19 miles northwest of Chicago's downtown area. Airport information
booths are located on upper terminal level and outside the meeting area in
the international facility.
Midway Airport (312) 767-0500
Located approximately 12 miles southwest of downtown Chicago, this airport
has one terminal building. The terminal building houses all passenger services
including a restaurant, information booths and car rentals.
TAXI
From O'Hare, a taxi ride downtown takes one hour or less and estimated
costs $35.00-$50.00.
From Midway, a taxi ride downtown takes 40 minutes and estimated costs
$20.00-$30.00.
Taxis are available at both airports 24 hours.
VAN TRANSPORTATION

O'Hare Airport to Downtown
Price: $30.00 per person round trip; pay driver upon departure. $16.00
one way. Board at the baggage claim area.
Schedule: Daily from 5:00am-10:30pm Departs Hotel every half hour
on the hour
Time: Allow one to one and a half hour to transit
Midway Airport to Downtown
Price: $20.00 per person round trip; pay driver upon departure. $11.00
one way.
Schedule: Daily from 6:05arn-10:05pm.
Departs Hotel every half hour at 5 minutes & 35 minutes past the hour.
Time: Allow 45 minutes to one hour in transit
ELEVATED TRAIN/SUBWAY

O'Hare Aiport to Downtown
Price: $1.50 each way
Location: Follow the signs to the CTA trains to the city.
Schedule: Trains run every 5 to 10 minutes day and evenings and every
30 minutes from 1:00am-5:00pm
Time: Allow approximately one hour to transit.
To Downtown Chicago Marriott - Inquire at train terminal for directions
to Gardner and State Streets (hotel is approximately two blocks away at 540
North Michigan Avenue).
Downtown to O'Hare Airport
Walk two blocks from the hotel to Gardner and State Streets. Enter the subway
and board the Southbound train (Red Line) to second stop, Washington Street.
Get off and go down the stairs and through the Dearborn Street tunnel. Go
up the stairs to the platform and board the O'Hare Blue Line train.
