 LLLT Home

The topic of Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) is very controversial. Some researchers claim to have achieved positive clinical and pre-clinical results, while others remain skeptical. The aim of this web site is to provide information on the interaction of light with biological tissues and to discuss the potential mechanism(s) of LLLT.

The Council of the American Society for Photobiology has agreed to provide information to the public on LLLT due to the abundance of misinformation on the web. The material presented on this site does not necessarily represent the views of the ASP council or members.

According to its bylaws, the American Society for Photobiology is responsibile for identifying issues in which the discipline of photobiology is or may become a significant factor, with particular attention to issues where existing or potential risks to the public are involved.
